List or request

Any tier can list a part or post a wanted ad. Every SKU is fingerprinted to a VIN / pack serial / module ID.

02

HHN verifies

Hub Certified inspector grades the part (A/B/C/Core) and signs the listing. No grade, no listing.

03

Tiered price unlocks

Buyer sees the price their tier qualifies for. HUB takes a flat 4% network fee — no hidden markup.

04

Network ships + installs

Part moves through HHN logistics. Optional install routed to the nearest Hub Certified shop. Warranty stays with the part.

// Why this kills the parts hunt

Today a hybrid pack hunt means 14 phone calls, three salvage yards, and a module of unknown provenance. On HHN, the same part is graded, serialized, warrantied, and priced for your tier — listed by the same shops and recyclers that used to gatekeep it. Everyone lists. Everyone sources. The network is the supply chain.

Core Exchange

A replacement battery can carry a refundable core credit without trusting a paper receipt. The extracted stack must match its photo and serial, move through a signed handoff, and reach an approved recycler, solar partner or reconditioner before funds unlock.

08 // Parts Provenance

Parts Provenance

Every certified pack carries a signed lifecycle — from salvage core to warrantied install — exportable on demand.

Serialization

Each pack and module gets a durable serial label tied to its source VIN, chemistry, and build date before it leaves the bench.

Custody

Every transfer names the releasing node, receiving node, time, and physical serial so possession never becomes anonymous.

Grading

A-grade supports certified evidence, B-grade supports diagnosis, C-grade is supplemental, and failed material routes to controlled recovery.

Fraud Controls

Serial media, signed technician identity, calibrated tool records, and chained event hashes expose missing or duplicated claims.

Downstream Reuse

Serviceable modules route to matched repairs or stationary storage; terminal material routes to documented recovery.

Second Life

A module too tired for traction can still store energy at home or on a trip. Pick a real donor module, set its measured health, and see the honest usable energy and runtime — built from published module ratings, not marketing numbers.

PEVE NP2 module: 6 × 1.2 V cells, 6.5 Ah; 28 modules = 201.6 V, 1.31 kWh. Depth of discharge set to 50% (NiMH tolerates shallow cycling best); 90% inverter efficiency.

Planning math only. Every reused module needs a capacity and internal-resistance test, a matched bank, a battery management system, fusing and an installer qualified for your jurisdiction. Never mix chemistries or tired and healthy modules in one string. No listing, price or guarantee is implied.

Closed Loop // Recycling & Reward

Full Recovery

Test, reuse what still works, and send the rest to a recycler with a record of where it went.

Neon isometric render of a certified hybrid EV shop network connected by glowing lines
// The loop, visualized

Illustration of the loop: test, reuse, then recover. It does not depict active network sites.

01

Test first

Capacity and internal resistance decide reuse versus recycling — not age.

02

Package & label

Tape terminals, keep packs dry and upright; damaged Li-ion ships under hazmat rules.

03

Hand off with evidence

Photos, weight and receiving facility go on the record. HHN credits are reviewed per claim on Rewards.

04

Material recovered

Metals refined back into battery supply; nothing should enter the trash.

Material streams & rewards

Where each material goes

  • Li-ion packs & cells
Commercial recyclers report recovering over 95% of lithium, nickel, cobalt and copper (Redwood Materials). Usable modules are tested for reuse first.
  • NiMH hybrid modules
Nickel and rare-earth alloys are recoverable; tired-but-stable modules can serve shallow-cycle storage first.
  • 12V lead-acid
Retailers accept returns and usually charge a core deposit at sale; lead is among the most recycled materials.
  • Copper busbars & harness
Sold as scrap by weight at the yard's posted price that day.
  • Coolant & fluids
Hazardous waste — take to a household hazardous waste site or licensed shop.
